What is Social Media?
Social media includes sites where people write content, create images or videos, and even leave hyperlinks so other community members can see it. Unlike older forms of media, social media allows the intended audience to contextualize and interact with the information provided. It also includes forums, social networks, media sharing sites, blogs, podcasts, and even virtual worlds. For marketers, social media channels are key for brand building, community engagement, and customer service.
Examples of social media include: posting updates on Twitter (X), sharing photos on Instagram, and writing articles on LinkedIn.
