What are Shopping Ads
Shopping ads, formerly known as Product Listing Ads (PLAs), are listings that have a photo, title, price, and name of the seller and appear above or next to the search results. They display product images and are activated by queries that are relevant to the products, and they send traffic directly to product pages. Merchants submit product feeds to Google Merchant Center or Microsoft Merchant Center, after which they connect these feeds to their PPC accounts for bidding, monitoring, and performance evaluation. These types of ads are known to have high click rates and better conversion rates than other advertising methods.
As examples of shopping ads, consider a “wireless earbuds” query returning with a headphone listing showing both image and price; a dress advertisement displaying several color swatches accompanied by a price and comparison carousel titled “4K TVs.”
