What is Schema Markup?
Schema markup is an additional markup to HTML that assists search engines in understanding a webpage’s content precisely, aiding richer categorization and result display. When paired with certain attributes such as “Organization,” “LocalBusiness,” or “Product,” your site is accurately read instead of context being guessed by keywords. Review stars, event details, and FAQs can all be implemented directly on the SERPs with proper schema markup. While highlighting vital information to attract clicks, well-crafted schema also improves visibility, augmenting the click rate.
Marking a recipe with relevant schema can be an example of adding schema markup. Other examples include placing the Product schema on an e-commerce item page or using the Event schema on a concert listing.
