What is Real Simple Syndication (RSS)?
Real Simple Syndication (RSS) is an XML-based format for feeds that automatically transmits updates from a particular site, for example, blog entries, news articles, or even podcasts, to subscribers and aggregator clients. When a content provider issues an RSS feed, they make certain that users are promptly notified without having to revisit the site. Marketers have integrated RSS into email marketing campaigns, mobile applications, and even sponsored feeds to provide automated delivery of content at scale. Sadly, the debate still goes on with RSS advertising and plugs. However, it is still a lean back, lightweight, controlled by the user channel for all-encompassing content syndication.
Some examples of RSS are blogging subscriptions through Feedly, RSS-to-email newsletters, and even blogs and digital advertising embedded into newsreader apps.
