What are Expanded Text Ads?

As search text ads, Expanded Text Ads (ETAs) are a new format that doubles the character limit of standard text ads. ETAs consist of two headlines with thirty characters each, one description with eighty characters, and two fifteen-character URL pathways. As with traditional desktop and mobile ads, ETAs provide space for both components to optimize the message relayed to users.

Expanded Text Ads include using the description field to highlight product benefits in a headline split between two fields and increasing CTR using path URLs such as “/Free-Trial” and “/Sign-Up.”
