An Ego Keyword is any search term an individual or organization insists on ranking for—organically or through paid ads—without regard for cost or return on investment. These vanity terms are primarily brand names, names of executives, or phrases that are personally significant but unlikely to yield helpful traffic or conversions.
Examples include Bidding on a CEO’s listed name, targeting company taglines that are not widely recognized, or demanding that low-search-volume internally used product names be ranked.
