Step 1: Check Crawlability

  • Open Google Search Console and Click on “Coverage”.
  • Look for any pages marked “Blocked by robots.txt” or showing “404 errors”.
  • To check your robots.txt, type this URL format into your browser: yourwebsite.com/robots.txt

Follow these steps if an important page is blocked:

  • Install and open Yoast SEO

  • Click on File Editor
  • You can edit the robots.txt file there.

After fixing, go back to Google Search Console and click Request Indexing for that page.

  • Log in to your website’s CMS (e.g., WordPress).

  • Open the page editor of the affected page.

  • Change it from ‘No’ to ‘Yes’.
  • Update/Save the page.
